A good formula to gold tone a Van Dyke, Salt or Kallitype print is the thiourea formula.
With this recipe, you can obtain a tone range that goes from dark red to neutral grey. In some case, you could obtain both tones at the same time.
Ready to use freshly made toner in a 1 liter dispenser bottle.
Use for one shot toning about 50ml for every 8″ x 10″ print.
Shelf life 1 year.
